Matching Between PAXXON Truck Tires and Rims

The matching between truck tires and rims is a critical technical process — far more than simply “fitting them together.” Their relationship can be compared to that between feet and shoes: an ill-fitting pair not only causes discomfort but can also lead to injury and prevent you from going far.

1. Dimensional Precision Matching

Diameter: The rim diameter indicated in the tire size (e.g., 22.5) must exactly match the rim diameter. (A mismatch in diameter makes installation impossible.)

Width:The rim width must fall within the tire’s specified permissible range.(Incorrect width can cause excessive sidewall bulging or contraction, leading to premature wear, bead unseating, or even tire failure.)

2. Structural Compatibility

Flange Shape: Modern tubeless truck tires must be matched with 15° drop-center rims, which are the current industry standard. (Incorrect flange shape may cause air leakage or bead damage.)

Tubeless vs. Tube Type: Tubeless tires must be fitted on tubeless rims that provide airtight sealing. (Using tube-type rims for tubeless tires poses serious safety risks.)

3. Mechanical Performance Compatibility

Load Capacity: The rim’s rated load capacity must be equal to or greater than that of the tire. (Overloaded rims may fracture or fail.)

Offset (ET Value): Offset affects the vehicle’s track width. Incorrect offset can interfere with the suspension or steering system. (Improper offset can cause the tire to rub against the chassis, result in heavy steering, or make the vehicle unstable.)

4. Installation Standards

Bolt Pattern (PCD) and Hole Count: The rim’s bolt circle diameter and number of holes must match the axle specification. (Otherwise, installation will fail or the wheel may detach while driving.)

Tightening Torque: Bolts must be tightened using a torque wrench following the correct sequence and specified torque values. (Loose or overtightened bolts can lead to fracture or wheel loss.)

Tires and rims form an inseparable system.
Proper matching ensures safety, economy, and operational efficiency. Any compromise can result in costly consequences—or even endanger lives.

When selecting or replacing rims, always use PAXXON-recommended and certified rims, adhere to technical standards, and seek professional guidance.
